Official Rules: Ace Par 3 Hole-in-One Challenge
Amateurs only. The $5,000 prize can be won only by eligible amateur golfers. Please read these rules before you buy an entry. Buying an entry means you accept these rules.
1. Sponsor
The Ace Par 3 Hole-in-One Challenge (the "Challenge") is run by Ace Par 3, San Antonio, Texas ("Ace Par 3," "we," "us"). Participating golf courses host the Challenge but are not the sponsor.
2. Who can enter
- You must be at least 18 years old and have a valid government photo ID.
- You must be an amateur golfer. For these rules, that means you have never played golf for prize money as a professional, you are not a PGA, LPGA or other tour professional, and you are not a club or teaching professional.
- Employees of the host course who work in the golf industry (pro shop, golf operations, instruction) can't win at that course. Ace Par 3 owners, employees and their immediate families can't win.
- We may check your amateur status before paying any prize. If you are not an amateur, you may still take a shot for fun, but a hole-in-one by a professional or other ineligible player wins no cash prize.
3. How to enter
- The Challenge is only available while you are playing a regular round at a participating course, during that course's normal hours.
- First Shot ($12): includes one official branded gold ball, hit on the course's designated par-3 hole.
- Redemption Shot ($20): one more chance on a later designated par-3 (for example, hole 3). Every Redemption Shot is recorded on video.
- Each paid entry gives you exactly one shot. No practice shots, mulligans, re-tees or substitute shots. Entries can't be transferred or shared.
- You must pay before you hit. Keep your receipt.
4. Hole requirements
- The shot must be made on the designated hole, from the designated tee, with the official Ace Par 3 gold ball.
- The shot must be at least [minimum yardage, set per course] yards, as measured by the course.
- A hole-in-one means the ball is hit once from the tee and comes to rest in the cup, following the Rules of Golf. The flagstick and hole will be set as normal for play.
5. Verification
- At least two adult witnesses (for example, your playing partners) must see the full shot and the ball going in the hole.
- Redemption Shots must also be captured clearly on the Ace Par 3 video.
- Report the ace immediately to the course staff and to Ace Par 3 at info@acepar3.com, before leaving the course.
- You and your witnesses must sign a hole-in-one affidavit, and you must show photo ID, your receipt and your scorecard.
- We may review video, talk to witnesses and course staff, and confirm the yardage. Our decision on whether a shot qualifies is final.
6. Prize
- Prize: $5,000 (U.S. dollars) for a verified hole-in-one by an eligible amateur.
- We will pay the prize within 30 days after verification is complete.
- You are responsible for all taxes. You may need to give us a W-9, and we may issue a Form 1099.
- The prize may be backed by a prize insurer. If so, payment also depends on the insurer's approval of the claim.
- One prize per verified ace. The prize can't be transferred or swapped for anything else.
- With your permission, we may share your name, photo and video of your winning shot for promotion.
7. Fair play and disqualification
We may disqualify anyone who cheats, tampers with equipment, the ball, the tee or the hole, gives false information, or doesn't follow these rules or the course's rules. A disqualified player gets no prize and no refund.
8. No purchase necessary (where required)
Where the law requires a free way to enter, we will provide one and post its details here. The Challenge is void where prohibited.
9. Limitation of liability
You play at your own risk. Ace Par 3 and participating courses are not responsible for injuries, lost or damaged property, weather, course closures, or video or equipment failures. Our total liability to you is limited to the entry fee you paid. If a shot can't be verified because of a technical failure, we may refund your entry fee instead of awarding a prize.
10. Governing law
These rules are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute will be handled in Bexar County, Texas.
11. Privacy
We use the information you give us only to run the Challenge and pay prizes. See our Privacy Policy.
